Recreational Marijuana, The Gender-Pay Gap, Abortion, The Death Penalty, Immigration, Climate Change, Rape Culture. Sound like your typical Sunday afternoon Jewish study session? Want to make it that way?

Hot Potatoes! Sponsored by Am Kolel’s Kol Bo Judaic Resource Center is a laid back, egalitarian, everyone-friendly class/discussion group/eating club for Montgomery County and DC Jews and Jew(ish) folks age 21-41(ish) from any and all backgrounds!

Each week we’ll tackle a new polemic topic taken straight from the headlines and explore what Jewish tradition has to add to the conversation.

We’ll enjoy a different potato-based nosh every class (because, you know, hot potatoes, see what we did there?) some tea, and an informal discussion-based learning.

Topics for the first few sessions will be announced on and sent to everyone who registers. We’re also open to topic suggestions!

Apartment number will be sent to all those who register.

Need-based scholarship funds available. Contact us at for details.
